Suwayda...the continuation of the peaceful popular movement against the Syrian regime
ARK News… The people of Suwayda stressed the continuation of the peaceful movement against the Syrian regime, and demanded the release of detainees, freedom, and the political transfer of power.
On Thursday, February 15, 2024, dozens of citizens from Suwayda gathered in Karama Square in the center of the city, to participate in a new demonstration to confirm the continuation of the popular uprising against the regime and its government and to demand the release of detainees, freedom, the peaceful transfer of power, and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254. The demonstrators raised banners against the regime.
On Wednesday, dozens of residents of the city of Suwayda staged a sit-in in front of the Engineers Syndicate in the city, to demand that the security services affiliated with the regime and the Baath Party restrain the unions, carrying banners that read:
“Liberating society begins with liberating unions,” “Resisting the hand of the security services is the first step to liberating union work,” “No revolutionary can die,” “Unions must be supportive of their members, not a burden on them.”
