ARK News… Private hospitals in Damascus are witnessing a sharp rise in the fees for all medical services, especially intensive care fees, with the cost of one night exceeding five million Syrian pounds, amid the deteriorating medical situation in public hospitals and the poor living conditions of the population.

Syrian media outlets said that the fee for reserving a bed in intensive care in Damascus amounted to three and a half million Syrian pounds, excluding the fees for tests, medications, or medical consultations, each of which is estimated at hundreds of thousands, exceeding the capacity of the population.

According to the pro-Syrian regime newspaper Al-Watan, Bashar Kanani, head of the Health Facilities Classification and Private Hospital Management Department in the Syrian regime’s Ministry of Health, said: The reason behind the high fees for intensive care rooms in private hospitals is due to the high prices of medicines, analysis materials, and medical supplies, in addition to the high prices of fuel. and taxes are charged in full on the price of the bed so that the hospital can continue to provide services.”
