America confirms its support for the peaceful movement in Suwayda
ARK News… The US envoy to Syria and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Ethan Goldrich, affirmed his country's support for the Syrians' right to peaceful gathering.
In an interview conducted with him by the “Suwayda 24” website, Ethan Goldrich said that the United States continues to monitor the Suwayda demonstrations, and assured the Druze spiritual leader, Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri, of its support for the right of Syrians to peaceful assembly, including peaceful protest for dignity, freedom, safety, and justice.
The US envoy to Syria indicated that Security Council Resolution 2254 is the only viable political solution in Syria.
Goldrich added that the United States condemns any violent response to those who peacefully demand respect for their inalienable rights, and condemns reports that the Syrian regime used fire to disperse demonstrators, and arrested dozens of civilians, including women, for exercising freedom of expression.
