An American official reveals his country's steps to combat Captagon trafficking in Syria
ARK News... Ethan Goldrich, the US envoy to Syria, revealed the steps his country is taking to combat Captagon trafficking in Syria.
During an interview with the “Suwayda 24” website, Ethan Goldrich, the US envoy to Syria and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, said that the United States is working to combat the trade in “Captagon” through four lines:
Providing diplomatic and intelligence support to law enforcement investigations.
- Economic sanctions and financial instruments.
- Foreign aid and training to partner countries.
Diplomatic engagements and public messages to exert pressure on the Syrian regime.
Goldrich emphasized that these efforts are in line with those of the Global Coalition to Counter Synthetic Drug Threats, which Secretary of State Blinken announced in June 2023.
