The death of a political activist in the detention centers of the Syrian regime
ARK News… The family of Syrian engineer and political activist Abdullah Madi, who hails from the Syrian governorate of Deir Ez-Zour, announced his death in the detention centers of the Syrian regime, about 12 years after his arrest.
Farah Maddi, the daughter of activist Abdullah, published a post on her personal Facebook page in which she said: “Today we received the news of the martyrdom of my dear father, engineer Abdullah Maddi, in his detention center. May God have mercy on you, my beloved. You have been relieved from this torment, and God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”
Engineer Abdullah Maddi, from Deir Ez-Zour Governorate, born in 1957. He was arrested for eight years during the reign of former Syrian regime president Hafez al-Assad, on charges of belonging to the Revolutionary Workers’ Party.
Abdullah Maddi was arrested during the reign of the current regime president, Bashar al-Assad, in May 2012, when he was kidnapped on the Salamiya-Homs Road while was on his way from the Syrian Jazeera to Damascus.
