ARK News… Once again, the Syrian regime raised the price of gasoline, which led to widespread dissatisfaction among citizens within areas controlled by the Syrian regime.

Syrian media outlets revealed that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection of the Syrian regime raised the price of gasoline with a decision, on Sunday, 7/1/2024, issued as the price of a liter of “90 octane” gasoline reached (9500) and “95 octane” reached 9500. (12430).

Media outlets said that the price of “free” diesel reached (10,850), because these prices exceeded the purchasing power of citizens, which led to widespread dissatisfaction among citizens within areas controlled by regime forces.

According to media outlets, the new prices for gasoline met with a widespread wave of dissatisfaction and criticism from people on social media, where some accused the regime’s government of deliberately raising prices and stealing from the Syrian people.

Others confirmed that the substance is basically not available in the markets despite its very high price, and that fuel merchants will raise its prices to a greater extent and will not adhere to its determination by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection of the Syrian regime.

Citizens demanded raising the wage limit for workers and employees' salaries to match the rise in the prices of basic materials.

The Syrian regime raised the price of fuel (gasoline, diesel) three times during the year 2023, and this is the first time it has raised the price of gasoline in 2024.
