The Coalition: The regime’s continued bombing of Idlib proves its indifference to international laws and human rights
The Syrian National Coalition called on the countries that guaranteed the de-escalation understandings in northwestern Syria to assume their full responsibilities towards the Syrian regime’s escalation in Idlib Governorate, and to take the necessary measures to stop crimes in the region.
The coalition said in a statement, on Monday, “The continued bombing of the Assad regime and its supporters on residential neighborhoods in Idlib Governorate and its use of incendiary phosphorous shells on the bodies of civilians proves once again this regime’s indifference to international laws, treaties, resolutions and human rights, and clearly shows its disdain for international organizations and bodies responsible for... Enforce decisions.
The statement added: “In light of the indifference of the international community and international organizations in implementing their legal and humanitarian obligations to stop the war crimes committed by the Assad regime, this regime persists in using excessive brutality on a daily basis against civilians, which leads to constant deaths and injuries, and this may cause "With a new wave of displacement of hundreds of thousands of Syrians, if this escalation is not dealt with urgently."
The coalition called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria to condemn these brutal attacks and clearly identify their perpetrators. It also called on the international community to strive to hold perpetrators of crimes accountable, and to press all available means to fully implement the relevant Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2254 (2015), completely and strictly.
