ARK News… In the first week of 2024, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented about 10 casualties in explosions of war remnants in Syria.

The Syrian Observatory said, "In light of the failure of humanitarian organizations and the absence of the role of the concerned authorities, the remnants of war, including mines, explosive and non-explosive objects, continue to constitute a major concern among the Syrian people in various areas of control."

According to the report, since the beginning of 2024, 5 children have been injured in areas controlled by the Syrian regime as a result of remnants of war. In areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a child lost his life and two others were injured.

During the past year, the Observatory documented the loss of 256 civilians’ lives as a result of the explosion of mines and war remnants in Syria, in addition to the injury of 365 civilians.
