Without an official announcement... Damascus International Airport returns to service
ARK News… Media outlets close to the Syrian regime confirmed that Damascus International Airport was back in service, but without an official announcement.
The Athar Press website, which is close to the Syrian regime, on Wednesday, 27/12/2023, said that Damascus International Airport, after stopping for more than two months due to repeated Israeli raids, has returned to service by diverting scheduled flights at Latakia Airport to the capital, but without an official announcement.
According to media outlets, a number of travelers were informed that their flights were diverted, on Wednesday evening, from Latakia Airport to Damascus International Airport.
The Voice of the Capital website revealed earlier that the Syrian Air Company began operating flights to and from Damascus International Airport, for commercial and military purposes, via Ilyushin aircraft inside and outside Syria on a regular basis.
Voice of the Capital added that air navigation sites revealed flights of a Syrian Ilyushin cargo plane between an unknown destination in Africa and Damascus using its international airport, and that a cargo plane belonging to Iranian militias landed early last week, carrying anti-armor missiles.
