The National Coalition condemns the Syrian regime's attacks on the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo
ARK News… The Syrian National Coalition condemned the Syrian regime's attacks on Idlib city and the countryside of Aleppo, which led to the killing of at least 7 civilians.
The Syrian National Coalition said in a statement that the war crime committed by the Assad regime on Sunday, November 17, 2023, by targeting areas in both Idlib and Aleppo, which led to the killing of at least 7 civilians in Darit Azza and the town of Al bazmo in the Aleppo countryside, while continuing to target residential homes; it represents a challenge to all international laws, a disdain for the international community, and a confirmation of the regime’s continued brutal military approach in its dealings with the Syrians.
The National Coalition stressed that the failure to take deterrent measures by the international community, represented by the Security Council, to stop repeated attacks and provide protection for civilians in the liberated areas, encourages the Assad regime and its allies to commit more war crimes. This destabilizes the security of the region, forces tens of thousands to flee and seek refuge, and worsens the humanitarian situation.
In its statement, the coalition called on the international community and the active countries in the Syrian file to take a firm stance against these crimes, find clear mechanisms to activate accountability and accountability for war crimes, and take firm measures to end the Assad regime’s obstruction of the political process sponsored by the United Nations in Geneva, in accordance with the mandate of Security Council Resolution No. 2254. (2015).
The National Coalition also called on the guarantor countries in the Astana process to adhere to the understandings and protocols signed between them regarding the ceasefire and to prevent any hostile acts targeting civilians and public facilities.
