More than 73% of the displaced did not receive heating materials in northwestern Syria

The "Syria Response Coordinators" team said in a statement, on Thursday, 7/12/2023, that 94% of the displaced in northwestern Syria are unable to secure heating materials for the current winter, while 74% of them did not obtain heating materials for this year. Until now.

The team stated that there is a large deficit in securing civilian supplies in the region and the inability of organizations to provide the necessary support to the civilian population, and the situation in the camps is very bad.

The "Syria Response Coordinators" team reviewed numbers about the reality of heating in camps in northwestern Syria, which are as follows:

74% of the displaced did not receive heating materials.

17% of the displaced received heating supplies sufficient for four weeks, with rationing.

9% of the displaced received heating supplies sufficient for six to eight weeks.

The "Syria Response Coordinators" team added that more than 85% of the displaced complained about the poor quality of the heating materials provided and the poor quality used in the response operations.

The team confirmed that more than 94% of families are unable to secure heating materials for the current winter, and 81% of families in northwestern Syria are seeking to reduce basic needs, especially food, in a desperate attempt to obtain heating for this year.
