ARK News… The "Syria Response Coordinators" team urged humanitarian organizations to activate psychological clinics within medical centers, after recording dozens of suicide cases in northwestern Syria.

The team said in a statement on its Facebook page that since the beginning of this year, it had recorded about 62 suicide cases in northwestern Syria, “including 34 that failed,” adding that in 2022, the number of cases had reached 88, including 33 that failed.

It stated that the category of women “constitutes the largest group in the number of these cases because there is no one to help them overcome the difficulties they suffer from, as well as young people who are unable to deal with the various difficulties and pressures they face,” in addition to the state of “instability in the region as a result of the many and cyclical changes.” .

The response coordinators team called on “humanitarian organizations working in the region to support civilians and displaced people and provide them with basic requirements... and to work to secure job opportunities on a regular basis to reduce the spread of unemployment in the region.”

It also urged humanitarian organizations to "activate psychiatric clinics within medical centers and activate special numbers to report potential cases in order to deal with them urgently."

It recommended establishing special clinics "to treat drug addicts in the region, especially after the spread of drug trafficking, and cooperating with the controlling authorities to report drug dealers, especially since drug users enter a state of complete unconsciousness and are unable to make a decision or prevent themselves from committing suicide."
