ARK News… The Syrian Civil Defense Foundation recorded that more than 140 tents were damaged in northwestern Syria in the first depression of this winter.

The Foundation said in a statement that heavy rains fell accompanied by strong winds in northwestern Syria, which began after midnight on Sunday, causing damage to camps for the displaced and temporary shelter centers for survivors of the earthquake.

It added, "22 camps in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo were damaged by torrents, rain, and strong winds, and the number of partially and completely damaged tents reached 140 tents and temporary homes, inhabited by more than 200 families."

The Foundation stressed that "the weakness of humanitarian response work at both the international and local levels increase the catastrophic conditions that the displaced have been living in the camps for about 12 years."

Pointing out that "the effects that the floods will have this winter will be disastrous after the devastating earthquake disaster, with fears of the spread of diseases, including cholera, in which the number of infections recorded since September 2022 until now exceeds more than 1,100."
