The head of the negotiating body and the French envoy discuss developments in the political process in Syria

ARK News… The head of the Syrian Negotiating Committee stressed the importance of greater political support to end the Syrian tragedy that has been going on for twelve years.

This came in a meeting between Badr Jamous, the French envoy to the Syrian file, Brigitte Karmi, and the French Consul General in Istanbul, Olivier Guven, about the latest developments in the political process of the Syrian file.

During the meeting, which took place at the French Palace in Istanbul, Jamous stressed "the necessity of advancing the political process and not leaving the Syrian people a victim of cross-border militias and the Syrian regime, which has turned Syria into a failed state."

Stressing "the importance of greater political support and international movement to end the Syrian tragedy and finding effective mechanisms to end the regime's escape from implementing international resolutions."

For its part, the French delegation reaffirmed "its country's support for Resolution 2254 and its full implementation of all international resolutions that meet the aspirations of the Syrian people, and their continued humanitarian support for the Syrian people."
