ARK News… The Immigration and Passports Department of the Syrian regime intends to reduce the period for receiving regular, urgent, and immediate passports.

The “Sawt Al-Asimah” page, which is close to the Syrian regime, published on the social networking site “Facebook” that the Immigration and Passports Department of the Syrian regime intends to reduce the deadline for receiving passports.

According to Sawt Al-Asimah, Khaled Hadid, Director of the Immigration and Passports Department of the Syrian regime, said that the time for receiving the regular passport will become “45” days, the urgent passport will be within “21” days, and the immediate passport will become “3” days.

For its part, the local "Hashtag" website reported, citing an informed source, that the Immigration and Passports Administration of the Syrian regime intends to raise the fees for a regular passport to 150,000 Syrian pounds.

The source revealed that the cost of the immediate passport amounted to about one million and ten thousand Syrian pounds, while the time to receive it ranged between 24 hours and a week.

The local hashtag website added that during the next two months, all passport delivery dates will be rescheduled, so that the issue of the accumulated passports will be completed by the end of January next year.

In the latest official ranking issued by the World Air Transport Association for the year 2023, the Syrian passport ranked “105th” penultimate in the world with 28 destinations.

The cost of obtaining a quick Syrian passport is more than 1,000 US dollars, and a slow one is more than 600 US dollars, as the Syrian passport is considered the most expensive in the world, and its holder can travel to ten countries without a visa, no more.
