Turkey allows refugees with temporary residency to visit Syria
ARK News… The Turkish government has provided an opportunity for Syrian refugees in Turkey who hold a temporary protection card (Kimlik) to visit their country according to specific leaves and conditions.
The local council in the town of Ghandoura, east of Aleppo, affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government, in a statement, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, asked Syrians who are in Turkey under temporary protection in various states except Gaziantep, and who wish to visit Syria for a month, to contact its financial office, to coordinate the request.
Syrian media sources said that the decision includes the local councils in the Aleppo countryside, which are supervised by the Turkish state of Gaziantep, and are located in the cities of Al-Bab and Jarabulus and their countryside.
Turkey has allowed Syrian refugees on its territory who hold a temporary protection card to visit Syria on Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr and to return during a specific period since 2014, from the Jarabulus and Bab al-Salama crossings in the Aleppo countryside, and Bab al-Hawa in Idlib, but these visits have stopped since 2020 coinciding with Coronavirus outbreak.
