ARK News... Today, October 24, 2023, marks the eleventh anniversary of the kidnapping of the leader Bahzad Dorsin, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria, Nidal Othman, who were kidnapped by an armed group affiliated with the PYD in the vicinity of Derik in Kurdistan, Syria, on October 24, 2012.

Brief bout the leadership Bahzad Dorsin:

Bahzad Dorsin Hussam was born in Derik, Syrian Kurdistan, on 30.11.1964. He studied elementary and middle school in the city of Derik and earned a high school certificate (literary branch) in 1982 and continued his studies at the Teachers Training Institute and obtained a certificate of civil education in the city of Hasaka in 1984 and earned a university degree in the Faculty of Education from the University of the Euphrates.

He Joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in 1980 and worked in the student organization in the city of Derik and then in the student organization in the city of Hasaka, include in the ranks of the party starting from the Local Council - the Area Council. He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Party at the Tenth Conference of the Party held in May 2007 and then elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the party. He attended the conference of the Kurdish National Council, which was held on 26.10.2011 as a representative of the party and then a member of the Local Committee of the Kurdish National Council in Syria. He received several organizational party positions, including: Derik Area Committee official of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria. He took over the duties of the official of the Local Council of the Kurdish National Council in Syria in Derik.

He was known for his support for the Syrian revolution and the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people to self-determination. As a result, he was harassed by the PYD and its military wing, the YPG, with the support of the Syrian regime, both letters of threat or prosecution, where he was pursued on (22-23) 10. 2012 by YPG patrols, until they managed to kidnap him with member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria Nidal Othman on Wednesday 24. 10. 2012.

The city of Derik has witnessed numerous demonstrations demanding the freedom of the leader Dorsin, but to no avail his fate is still unknown to date.
