To discuss the latest developments, Goldrich meets with the Syrian opposition

ARK News... The US Special Envoy for Syria, Ethan Goldrich, on Sunday, September 3, met with the leaders of the Syrian opposition in Istanbul, to discuss the latest developments in Syria.

The US embassy in Damascus said in a post on its Facebook account that the discussions revolved around developments in Deir ez-Zor, As-Suwayda and Daraa.

During which the US official affirmed his country's support for the main role of the Syrian opposition, in reaching a just and comprehensive political solution, in accordance with Security Council Resolution No. 2254.

In turn, the opposition Syrian National Coalition said that a delegation consisting of its president, Salem Al-Muslet, Vice-President Abdul-Ahad Estifo and Ruba Habosh, member of the Political Authority Zuhair Muhammad and member of the General Authority Anas Al-Abdah, met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, the Special Envoy for Syria Ethan Goldrich, and the Director General of the Syria Platform US State Department Regional Director Nicholas Grainger, and USAID Regional Director Sonella Haysi, in Istanbul.

He stated that the meeting discussed political developments and developments in the field situation in Syria, especially the events in Deir Ez-Zour and the movement in Suwayda, Daraa and southern Syria.
