America confirms the survival of its forces in northeastern Syria
ARK News…. The US State Department affirmed that the United States is committed to a "limited presence" on Syrian territory, and that it "does not plan any escalation or major transformations," noting that it "continues to consult" with Turkey on policy in Syria.
In exclusive statements reported by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, in response to reports promoted by Russian and Iranian websites and among the Syrian regime, the US forces are accused of carrying out "mysterious" military moves in Syria and Iraq.
A US State Department spokesman confirmed, "There is no change in the US position, and we are not planning any escalation or major shifts," adding that "US military forces are in Syria for the sole purpose of enabling the campaign against ISIS."
He stressed that the United States is "committed to maintaining its limited presence in northeastern Syria, as part of a comprehensive strategy to defeat ISIS and al-Qaeda."
