The Syrian regime tortured a displaced person who returned to its areas of control until his death

ARK News… The Syrian Network for Human Rights, on Monday, said that the Syrian regime forces arrested a displaced person who had returned to their areas of control and tortured him to death.

The network stated that the Syrian Muhammad Abdul Rahman Majo, from the Khan al-Assal neighborhood, southwest of Aleppo, was displaced to the city of Atarib in the western countryside of Aleppo governorate.

In May 2023, Majo went from his place of displacement in the city of Atarib to the city of Aleppo to settle his security situation and return to his original place of residence. On 15-6-2023, a force belonging to the Military Security Branch of the Syrian regime arrested him from his home in the city of Aleppo.

The arrest took place without presenting any legal arrest warrant issued by a court/public prosecution, and no one of his relatives was notified of his arrest, and he was prevented from communicating with his family or a lawyer, and he was taken to a detention center in the city of Damascus, and he became one of the forcibly disappeared since then.

On August 3, 2023, Muhammad's family received unofficial news of his death in a detention center in the city of Damascus, through a call from members of the Syrian regime forces, and on August 5, 2023, his family was able to receive his body in the city of Aleppo.
