ARK News… US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller announced his country's position on the Turkish plan to return one million Syrian refugees to their country, stressing that conditions in Syria do not allow for an organized return on a large scale.

During a press conference, and in response to a question about the United States' position on the Turkish plan to return a million Syrians, Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department, said the conditions in Syria do not allow for an organized return on a large scale.

Miller emphasized: We believe that the rights of all Syrians must be respected, including the housing, land and property rights of those who remain in Syria and those who have been displaced.

A spokesman for the US State Department emphasized: We encourage all parties to act in a manner that promotes peaceful coexistence and respect for human rights.

Miller added, "As we have said before, the return of any refugee to Syria must be voluntary, safe, dignified, sustainable and coordinated with UNHCR." We are not opposed to individual voluntary returns. Conditions in Syria today do not allow for organized returns on a large scale, and we have been very clear about this with our foreign partners, including Turkey.
