ARK News... A local group in As-Suwayda kidnapped a number of Syrian regime militants, on Monday, July 24, 2023, to exchange them for a detainee from the province.
Suwayda 24 network said that a civil group blocked the Damascus-Suwayda Road with burning tires, between the villages of Salim and Atil, and detained a number of the regime's gunmen and security services.
The network added that the group accuses the regime's security forces of arresting the young man, Rafi Osama al-Shaheen (19 years old), from the village of al-Munaythira in the southern countryside of Suwayda.
According to the network, Al-Shaheen lost contact with him, on Sunday evening, near the Al Abbasiye garages in Damascus, while he was trying to head towards Homs to reach Lebanon through it.
Recently, there have been repeated incidents of kidnapping of regime members in Suwayda by local groups, with the aim of exchanging them with detainees from the province.
