Washington: The Russian veto carries dire consequences for the lives of Syrians and exposes them to death

ARK News... The US State Department said in a post on its Twitter account, on Thursday, July 20, that we must quickly rectify the matter and reopen the Bab al-Hawa crossing, as the Syrian people have suffered enough, and the risks should not increase for them as they cannot bear more, in response to the Russian veto that prevented the renewal of the authorization for the entry of UN aid into northwestern Syria for an additional year.

It stressed that Russia's right to veto the UN Security Council resolution aimed at extending the humanitarian aid mechanism across the border into Syria carries dire consequences for people's lives and exposes them to death.

The United Nations General Assembly held a session, on Wednesday, to discuss the issue of Russia's use of the "veto" right against the decision to extend the mandate to enter humanitarian aid across the border into Syria, and the President of the General Assembly, Chaba Koroshi, said that "life-saving relief programs should not be hostage to political interests," stressing "the importance of humanitarian action always being guided by the principles of impartiality, neutrality and independence."
