ARK News… "Amnesty International" called on the member states of the United Nations General Assembly to condemn Russia's abuse of the veto, which prevented the renewal of the mechanism for the delivery of humanitarian aid across the border to Syria.

The deputy director of the organization, Shireen Tadros, confirmed that the Russian veto means that the United Nations is no longer able to provide aid to four million people.

A report by the organization said: The UN association must confirm the legitimacy, integrity, impartiality and independence of the cross-border assistance mechanism, which aims to help four million people to survive in northern Syria.

It explained that Russia used its veto to reduce the scope of work of the mechanism, starting with the introduction of aid through four border crossings to only one, and now to a complete stop.

The organization indicated that it had documented the Damascus government's continued politicization of aid and obstructing its delivery to civilians in opposition areas, since 2014.
