The Syrian National Coalition: The decisions of the Syrian regime indicate the extent of Iranian penetration within its institutions

Haitham Rihma, Secretary-General of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, on Thursday, July 20, 2023, said that Iran's control over the joints of government in Syria has become clearer with the increase in daily decisions issued by the Syrian regime that facilitate movement for Iranians and grant them privileges.

Rihma pointed out that the Assad regime requires every Syrian who returns to the country to exchange $100 at the border, in return for his entry, while it facilitated Iranian visitors to enter Syria and pay hotel accommodation fees in Syrian pounds.

Rihma stressed that all the decisions issued by the Assad regime come within the framework of the strategy of domination and plundering the property of the people and the population, but they change with regard to the Iranian visitors, because it loses the ability to issue any decision that impedes their movement, which indicates the extent of the Iranian penetration within the regime’s institutions, which reaches the point of almost complete control.

Rihma stressed that the Assad regime has become incapable of getting out of the Iranian mantle, pointing out that this illustrates the size of the mistake committed by the Arabs by allowing the Assad regime to return to the Arab League and to re-normalize relations with it.
