Al-Safadi: Cutting aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan will increase their suffering

ARK News… Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned that cutting aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan would increase their suffering.

"By August 1, the World Food Program will cut off vital support for Syrian refugees in Jordan," Safadi said in a tweet.

Adding that some other UN agencies and some donors are doing the same, he stressed that "Jordan is unable to bridge this gap."

Al-Safadi indicated that Jordan is seeking to consult with regional host countries to hold a meeting to develop a joint response to the decrease in support for Syrian refugees from the World Food Program and other donors, stressing the need to take measures to mitigate its impact, stressing that bearing the burden of providing a decent life for refugees "cannot be on us alone."

He stressed that the Syrian refugees in Jordan will suffer, and this matter "does not fall on Jordan, but rather on those who cut off support for them, as Jordan cannot bear this burden alone."
