Germany: The situation in Syria is not safe for the return of refugees
ARK News… A report prepared by the German Foreign Ministry on Syria to assess the situation with regard to refugees confirmed that the human rights situation there is still catastrophic and that the killing of civilians by Assad and his allies continues, in addition to arbitrary arrests and widespread hunger.
According to the "Tagesshow" website, the report concluded that a safe return of refugees cannot be guaranteed at present, and that the German Foreign Ministry has prepared regular reports on which the Federal Office for Migration and Asylum and the administrative courts rely to take a decision on granting Syrians the right to asylum or protection.
The German website indicated that the new report stated that there is no safe area in Syria, whether areas under the control of the Assad militia or areas under the control of the opposition factions, and that no Syrian refugee can be returned to his country.
It indicated that although the report was prepared before a conference of the Prime Minister with the heads of government of the federal states, the statements were the opposite of what was stated in it, as it stated that deportation should not be excluded for Syrian refugees and that the "ban on deportation" should be prevented.
The site added that the report confirmed the killing of more than a thousand civilians in Syria in 2022, according to data issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that the human rights situation there is "catastrophic", as civilians are repeatedly killed by heavy artillery attacks by Assad's militia and Russian air strikes.
