Car raids and roadblocks in the Syrian refugee camps in the town of Arsal
ARK News… On Saturday morning, units of the Lebanese army raided camps for Syrian refugees in the "Wadi Arnab" area in the town of "Arsal".
The raids targeted the camps: "Ghars al-Rahma, Ramadan camp, al-Ghufran camp, and men's camp in Arsal."
The raiding units confiscated motorcycles, detained a number of Syrian youths for hours, and released them.
On Friday evening, the main square in the town witnessed the establishment of car barriers to check the papers of passers-by and the papers of vehicles moving inside the town.
The raid operation, which was carried out by units of the Lebanese army that day, comes after raids carried out by the army in the camps of the "Al-Babin" area in the town of "Arsal" two days ago, and it confiscated motorcycles belonging to Syrian refugees in those camps.
Until now, it did not know about any arrests of Syrians in those camps, which were affected by the raids, and the procedures were limited to arresting some Syrian youths for hours and then releasing them.
The Lebanese authority describes these operations as regular, periodic, and legal, which aim behind their implementation to establish security and safety within the town's camps and to search for violators and legal abuses within those camps.
