President Barzani: The March 11 agreement transferred the identity and existence of the Kurdish people within the Iraqi state to a higher level

ARK News… Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani on Saturday affirmed that the March 11 agreement transferred the identity and presence of the Kurdish people within the Iraqi state to a higher level and strengthened the Kurdish people's self-confidence.

President Barzani said in a statement: “The March 11 agreement is considered one of the valuable achievements of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, and the importance of this historic event lies in the fact that it comes as a result of the struggle and revolution of the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Barzani Al-Khalid, as the Iraqi regime was forced at the time to officially recognize some rights.” Our people for the first time on March 11, which the Kurdish people have been deprived of since the establishment of the Iraqi state.

The Kurdish leader added: “The March 11 agreement, which was the result of the struggle and sacrifices of the Peshmerga, the masses, and all classes and religious and ethnic components in Kurdistan transferred the identity of the Kurdish people and their existence within the Iraqi state to a higher level. Although the Iraqi regime turned its back on the rights of the Kurdish people and violated the March 11 agreement, this achievement was a gateway to a greater stage and a greater step in the struggle of our people to achieve more achievements and victories.

President Barzani concluded his statement by saying: "On the fifty-third anniversary of the March 11th agreement, and in addition to emphasizing the message of peace and coexistence to the Kurdish people, we remind everyone that the people of Kurdistan do not give up their rights, freedom, and gains under any circumstances or pressures."
