Afrin… A military commander was killed in an explosion in the Afrin region
ARK News... As part of the chaos in the region, on Sunday, October 31, 2022, an explosive device exploded targeting a leader of the National Army of the Syrian opposition in the Afrin region of Syrian Kurdistan.
An explosive device planted in a military vehicle belonging to the Third Corps exploded, killing the leader, Bilal Abu Walid, and wounding two of his companions, on the Shara town road near the village of “Çema” of Afrin city.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, took control of some areas of Afrin, such as the city center, Jenderes, and some villages of Sherawa and Kafr Jinnah on October 12, after expelling the Third Legion from the aforementioned areas.
For his part, an informed source from the village told ARK: Violent clashes took place between the militants of Montaser Billah, the faction affiliated with the Revolutionaries Brigade in the opposition National Army, and the militants of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, the former Jabhat al-Nusra, in the village of Sariya of Rajo town in Afrin without receiving other information about the reasons of the outbreak of clashes.
