Afrin… A statement from the Kurdish National Council on the events of the Afrin region

ARK News… The National Council calls on Turkey and the international community to hand over the administration of Afrin to its indigenous people

A few days ago, the armed factions made the city of Afrin and its affiliated towns and villages a battlefield in fighting and strife to seize areas of influence and control their capabilities.

The practice of more violations against the people there, and what increased the horror of the invasion of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhat al-Nusra), which is classified as a terrorist in order to support some factions, including Hamzat and Al-Amshat against other factions, and without a significant confrontation, it took control of the center of Afrin city and many of its affiliated areas, and extended that its influence from Idlib to include the entire Afrin region as well, which increased the panic among the people of the region and caused more losses and damage to the civilian population there.

The Kurdish National Council, while denouncing this fighting, which made the populated areas an arena for confrontations, and gave way to the terrorist Al-Nusra Front to enter those areas,

It reiterates the disregard of these armed factions for people's lives and their continuous violations against them, despite calls and appeals to put an end to their actions, regarding the affairs of the people and their property, as well as the expulsion of Jabhat al-Nusra, which is classified as a terrorist, from the entire region of Afrin, and the safe return of the displaced to their homes and the handing over of the administration of the region with all its needs to its original inhabitants.
