ARK News... Two days ago, violent clashes continued between the armed factions controlling Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan, using all kinds of heavy weapons, amid assurances of the control of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" formerly known as "Jabhat al-Nusra" on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, over the center Jenderes town and some villages.

The sources stated that the intermittent clashes between the armed factions (Al-Amshat – Jabha Al-Shamiya – Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and other factions) that control the area, are still continuing on the outskirts of the city center and some of its villages, and strong explosions have been heard since last night.

The sources also reported that dozens of people were killed and wounded among the warring armed factions, especially in Shiye town, after Al-Amshat took control of Mabata town and some of its villages, such as Mirkan (Husê) and others.

Civilian victims
The area witnessed the martyrdom of the Kurdish elderly Hanifa Musa, 77 years old, from her injury when a shell fell on her house in the village of Kurzele in the Sherawa area, and another woman, Fatima Abdo, from the displaced Arabs in the village of Andara, was martyred. Other civilians were injured in the villages of Burj Abdalo, as well as a child of displaced Arabs who was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to ARK's source.

The clashes that took place two days ago created a state of panic and fear among civilians, as well as a complete cut off of electricity and the Internet in the city center and some of its villages.

For their part, the activists demanded that civilians stay at home for fear of being targeted, amid unconfirmed reports that all prisoners fled from Marate village, near the city center.

The "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham", which controls Idlib province and is classified under the terrorist list, had taken control of several villages in Afrin some time ago, then withdrew towards Idlib.
