Oct 13 2022

ARK News... A leader in the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, said that Syria is not safe for the return of refugees.

Racist statements towards Syrian refugees residing in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, and other countries abounded, amid calls from officials to return them to Syria on the pretext that Syria has become safe.

Abdullah Kaddo, a member of the political body of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, said: Syria is not safe for the return or return of refugees, and there are documented cases of arrest or killing of returnees in detention centers or prisons of the Syrian regime.

Kaddo added during his participation in the ARK Newsletter that the situation in Syria is dire and is not suitable for the return of refugees, except after implementing UN Resolution 2254 and ensuring the safe return of refugees.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun stated that he is working on returning Syrian refugees in Lebanon to Syria in the next few days.

Abdullah Kaddo confirmed at the end of a recent conversation that they, as a coalition, are working to communicate the suffering of the refugees to the responsible authorities, especially their exposure to pressure and the return of families under duress.
