Ark News… The leadership of the Peshmerga forces in Shingal (Sinjar) announced, on Tuesday, that hundreds of militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have surrendered to the Peshmerga forces, and that most of them have registered their names to join the ranks of the Peshmerga.
Qassem Shasho, the official in charge of the Peshmerga forces command in Shingal told (BasNews): "So far, more than 800 militants from the PKK and its affiliated factions within and around the borders of Shingal have surrendered to the Peshmerga forces."
"A large part of these militants registered their names to join the Peshmerga forces," Shasho added.
The pace of defections from the ranks of the PKK has increased recently, due to the party's hostile policies against the Kurdistan Region, where a large number of them joined the ranks of the Peshmerga.
