ARK News… The General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists in Syria yesterday published mourning for the departure of the writer Hussein Qadir, known as Zagros Amidi. ARK received a copy of the letter stating:

The Executive Office of the General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists received, with great pain and sadness, this morning, the news of the Kurdish writer and researcher Zagros Amidi- Hussein Qadir stopped beating in a hospital in Vienna / Austria, two weeks after he was treated for the COVID 19 virus, which he contracted.

After contacting his brother, the writer - Hamid - he informed us that the hospital informed them the day before yesterday of the news of his death, and the procedures are now underway to receive his immaculate body and bury it in Vienna where his family and some of his relatives reside.

The writer Zagros is a son of the village of Mamola - Afrin - near the borders with Turkey. He grew up in the city of Aleppo from the age of seven, studied civil engineering at the University of Aleppo and graduated in it in 1981, and traveled to Austria in 1989 with the aim of postgraduate studies, and returned to Syria in 2006, and stayed in Afrin city, and then returned to Austria in 2012, due to the civil war.

He lived in his life in rebellion against everything that was imposed - according to his vision - and chose, as he says, a literary name "Zagros Amidi" and published most of his writings under this name, except for the political articles published in his real name: Hussein Qadir, and he was a resounding voice in defense of the issue of his people, and against injustice and tyranny, whatever its source.

He has published an important book: Grounding Islam through a house-house in Qamishlo-2017, and he has a completed manuscript work awaiting printing, in addition to other manuscripts, which we hope to expedite the collection, preservation, and protection of his family and loved ones.

The Executive Office of the General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists expresses condolences to the writer Hamid, the brother of the deceased, his family, his relatives, his friends, and loved ones, for this painful affliction. The departure of the researcher Amidi, while he was in his prime, is a great loss for the Kurdish and humanitarian library.

The mercy of the writer and researcher Zagros Amidi
Long life and health for all
Hoping that the world will overcome this general catastrophic epidemic that daily kills innocent people
