A communication issued by the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria
ARK News… The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council held its regular meeting on Tuesday, 15/09/2020, and after standing for a minute of silence on the souls of the martyrs and the spirit of the immortal Barzani, it studied the points contained in its work schedule and included the following:
- The General Secretariat reviewed the developments of the political situation in the region, especially with regard to the developments of the political process that aims to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 2254, and saw that the slowdown in this process increases the suffering of the Syrians, and called on the international community and the concerned countries. The matter is to work to speed up the process and remove the obstacles created by the regime in the face of the work of the Constitutional Committee, and the opposition called for it to be faithful to its obligations before the Syrian people in building a democratic Syria for all Syrians away from the mentality of exclusion and marginalization.
- The General Secretariat listened to the outcome of the ongoing negotiations between the Kurdish National Council and PYNK in order to reach a Kurdish agreement that ends the state of division, and strengthens the role of the Kurds in the political process and the future of the country, and called in this regard not to prolong these negotiations and waste time and work positively and earnestly to make it successful.
- The General Secretariat reviewed the painful reality in Sari Kaniye, Gire Spi, and Afrin, and once again called on the international community to work to end the suffering of its children and stop the ongoing violations against them by the armed factions there, secure a safe return for them and hand them over to manage their areas by themselves.
- The secretariat discussed the role of the council in the coalition and the importance of continuing and strengthening the partnership between its components, and saw in some of the last steps of the coalition, including the replacement of the council’s representative in the negotiation body and other statements issued by some of them that undermine this partnership and its credibility and demanded to abandon it and called for the approval of the articles of the document between the Council and the Coalition in its political vision to strengthen the partnership and activate the role of the Council, as well as the statement of Riyadh / 2 / that the opposition agreed upon and which expresses its unity and cohesion.
- The Secretariat evaluated with satisfaction the positive echo of the Declaration of the Peace and Freedom Front and the attention it received in the popular and political milieu and called for the completion of the formation of its structure and the activation of its work.
- It also took the necessary decisions to advance the work of the secretariat in a way that enhances the role and position of the council.
