Five young Kurds have been detained by the regime since 2012, and their fate is unknown

ARK News… September 3, 2020, marks the eighth anniversary of the arrest of five young Kurds by the Syrian regime's repressive apparatus in Damascus.

On September 3, 2012, a patrol of the Syrian regime raided the Zorava neighborhood (Wadi Al-Masharieh) in Damascus and arrested 5 young Kurds, 4 of whom were from one family, whose fate remains unknown until now.

Names of the detainees:

1. Jiwan Abdul Rahman Khalid, born in 1980, from Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan, married and has three children.
2. Radwan Muhammad Ibrahim, born in 1985, from the village of Tubas in the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan.
3. Ghassan Muhammad Ibrahim, from the village of Tubas in the city of Amanda in Syrian Kurdistan.
4. Ahmed Muhammad Ibrahim, born in 1991, from the village of Tubas in the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan.
5. Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim, from Tobus village in Amuda, Kurdistan, Syria.

Jiwan Khalid was also among the detainees of the March 12, 2004 uprising, where he was brutally tortured by the Assad regime's intelligence, and he was arrested in March 2011 by the Syrian regime's military intelligence, and he was released after spending 50 days in Assad's prisons, and he was among the group that was tried before the Supreme State Security Court of the Syrian regime, where he was an active participant in the first Kurdish demonstration in front of the Parliament of the Assad regime.

The families of the detainees appealed to international and human rights organizations and human rights bodies to pressure the Syrian regime to reveal their fate, but all these attempts were unsuccessful.

Dozens of Kurdish militants and activists are still absent in the prisons of the Syrian regime, their fate has not been revealed yet, and they live in the worst conditions.
