ARK News… Kurdistan Region’s Interior Ministry has updated the measures and regulations to fight the pandemic, saying everyone should wear a mask in public.

The ministry issued a statement on Friday amid a rapid increase in infections across the region, saying that citizens are required to wear face masks outside their homes, or they will be fined with 20,000 IQD (approximately 16 USD).

Meanwhile, the ministry said, all public gatherings and different ceremonies, including weddings and funerals, remain suspended.

While the airports and two border crossings with Iran will open under strict health guidelines, movements between provinces inside the Kurdistan Region, as well as the Kurdistan Region and other provinces of Iraq, are only allowed with the ministry’s approval.
