Masrour Barzani: We will continue to care for 1.1 million refugees and displaced people from Iraq and Syria
ARK News.. The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, on Saturday, confirmed that the Kurdistan Region will continue to care for 1.1 million refugees and displaced persons on its lands, pointing to the need to strengthen international assistance to the region in this regard.
This came in a tweet published by the Prime Minister on the occasion of International Refugee Day.
"The Kurdistan Region is a safe haven for refugees, and we will continue to care for the 1.1 million refugees and internally displaced people who are here from Iraq and Syria," Barzani said.
He added: "On International Refugee Day, we remind the world that international aid is still necessary for their safe return to their areas."
