Erdogan: "Trump and Putin asked me to sit with Mazloum Abdi"
ARK News: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that US President Donald Trump and Russian Vladimir Putin asked him to sit with the commander of the SDF, Mazloum Abdi, at the negotiating table.
Erdogan met with a group of journalists upon his return from Germany after his participation in the Berlin Conference on Libya.
Erdogan told reporters that Trump asked him to negotiate with the "People's Protection Units" YPG and with Mazloum Abdi.
"Unfortunately, Mr. Trump went away, asking me to accept negotiations with the YPG and well-known terrorist Abdi Shahin, and I said," Sir, I will not sit with a terrorist, "Erdogan said.
"We are fighting terrorism and taking heavy losses in the war against international terrorism, and then we come and accept the terrorists ... I do not do that."
Turkish President Erdogan emphasized that Russian President Putin "did the same, but at a slower pace."
Turkey says that SDF is a threat to its national security, while SDD denies that it poses any threat to Ankara's security.
