Five years since the martyrdom of Zirvan Akram, the first Peshmerga martyr in Kobani

ARK News: On Monday, January 20, 2020, marked the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of the Peshmerga Zirvan Akram, the first Peshmerga martyred in the war against ISIS in the city of Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan.

Zirvan Akram was martyred on 20.01.2015 in the city of Kobani, in a war against the fiercest and largest terrorist organization in the world, the ISIS terrorist organization that launched an attack on Kobani in 2014.

Zirvan Akram is from the people of the Kurdistan Region - Soran district, where he joined with his Peshmerga comrades with equipment, light, medium and heavy weapons, by order of President Masoud Barzani to support their brothers in Kobani to rid the region of ISIS.

President Masoud Barzani, on October 31, 2014, was able, with his skill and wise policy, to send the Peshmerga forces from the Kurdistan Region with their heavy weapons across Turkish territory to the city of Kobani Syrian Kurdistan, to confront the terrorist ISIS there.

The Kurdish forces, in cooperation with the coalition planes, managed to regain control of the villages of Kobani and the majority of the neighborhoods and streets of the city from the grip of the terrorist ISIS, and with the martyrdom of Zirvan Akram, he was the first martyr from the Kurdistan Region to be martyred in Kobani.

Zirvan Akram was martyred on 20.01. 2015 in the city of Kobani and his body was transferred to his hometown of Soran district, and he was buried in a solemn ceremony attended by many national and nationalism figures, and thousands of people in the region.
