Political report of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria for December
ARK News: The Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria issued its political report for the month of December of the past year 2019, in which it touched on the situation in Syrian Kurdistan and Syria in general, as well as some Kurdish, Iraqi and international issues.
The text of the report, as received by ARK Media Foundation:
The United Nations announced a few days ago the failure of the work of the mini-constitutional committee to draft a new constitution for Syria due to the obstacles and difficulties that the Syrian regime had created to prevent even reaching an agreed work schedule, and with it increased the Syrian military campaigns with the support of Russian forces in Idlib governorate in order to return them to regime control, this means that the Syrian regime is still insisting on a military solution or resolution to the Syrian crisis, on the other hand, despite the endeavors of a political solution, whether through Geneva or Astana-Sochi, some regional powers, such as Iran and Turkey, are also practicing violence on their part in the service of their agendas and interests, i.e. that the Astana-Sochi countries as a whole are still practicing military action inside the Syrian territories, which means that the crisis is getting worse, however, the international coalition led by America seems to have used another weapon in this regard, whether for the general aspect of the region’s crises or the Syrian crisis in particular, especially the economic weapon, and the indicators may be evident, through the protests taking place in Lebanon, Iraq and Iran, and its implications for the Syrian economy are clear. As the exchange rate of the Syrian pound fell against the hard currencies (the dollar and the euro) and others, in addition to the falling prices of currencies of the same countries as well, and what made the situation more difficult is the approval of the US administration of the Caesar Law (the Protection of Civilians Law) or the so-called Caesar Law, which requires the imposition of economic sanctions on any party (state, bank, company, organization, or personalities). Etc.) lend a hand to the Syrian regime or even seek to provide support for the reconstruction of Syria after all the damage and devastation it has suffered, that is, the endeavors in this aspect are directed towards the regime to target the Syrian economy towards collapse, thus forcing the regime or forcing it to accept a political solution in accordance with the terms of reference of Geneva 1 and Resolution 2254 that the solution sought by the United Nations, and the international community and the Syrian people alike, and in general the efforts seem generally continuing on various tracks towards resolving the Syrian crisis.
As for Turkey it continues in that policy that serves its agenda exclusively, as it seeks to implement its project towards stability in a space of Syrian lands (previously Afrin, and Sari Kaniye and Gire Spi later) and to seek demographic change for these sites, in coordination and cooperation with key international parties (America and Russia), where it agreed with the two parties to remove the specter of the alleged danger from its borders, and did not hesitate to expand its international and regional relations and extensions in some Arab countries, especially Qatar and Libya.
Finally, it seeks to provide volunteer military and financial incentives to defend the Sarraj government, but it takes caution and political caution on the part of America, especially after the efforts of important political figures, including former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Baba Jan to form a new party with other leaders of the ruling Justice and Development Party Which is led by the President of the Republic (Recep Erdogan) and fear of American support for the new party at the expense of the aforementioned ruling party.
As for Iran, the protests still persist in it hardly including the whole of Iranian regions and cities, especially in the regions of Kurdistan and Ahwaz despite brutal repression and abuse of protesters killed, injured and arrested, that is, by using live weapons against protesters in most cases and without moral or humanitarian scruples, and without any respect for international law in this connection, and it seems that it will continue to do so despite the economic sanctions against it and despite the rise of the graphic line for the level of poverty due to the increasing unemployment, the weak purchasing power of the Iranian masses, and the exchange rate of the Iranian monetary unit against foreign currencies, meaning that the economic situation of Iran is going from bad to worse, and that the forces of protest and opposition Politics is getting more advanced, public anger increases with it, and consequently international sanctions increase with it, and the international situation increases against Iran and its policies are incompatible with international norms, covenants and laws.
As for Iraq, it is still the circle of mass protests continues to widen, especially in the south and center and even the capital Baghdad, and has given some of its important results as the resignation of the government of Mr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, as well as putting the resignation of the President of the Republic Mr. Barham Salih at the disposal of Parliament, this means that the change in Iraq will happen even if the crisis extends to other times, because the Iraqi crisis has regional and international dimensions that are reflected in the political conflict in Iraq between America and Iran, as well as internal Iraqi issues related to services, the living conditions of citizens, the state of unemployment and extreme poverty, along with files Financial and administrative corruption, all of that is burdens and tasks that should be implemented in a way that serves the Iraqi society with all its components, and for the severity and intractability of the crisis there is a tendency towards holding early elections and efforts to amend the constitution and the election law in order to be in line with the directions of promoting decentralization, to provide the requirements for stability locally and thus equitable distribution of the country's wealth.
As for the Kurdistan Region, in general, it is heading towards more political and economic stability, as it seeks to strengthen relations with many friendly countries, including great powers that are significant in the region's situations and crises, and looks forward to strengthening relations with neighboring countries, in addition to the necessary attention to issues of the internal status of the region Politically, economically and serviceably, perhaps! The recent conference of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan with its positive results, in the forefront of which is the role of the new leadership headed by Mr. Kosert Rasul Ali, gives more optimism to political stability in the region, by enhancing understanding between the three homogeneous presidencies (presidency of the region, the government and parliament) as well as the distinguished role of the leader and fighter Masoud Barzani in General conditions of the region, which pushes to provide more factors of development, progress and prosperity.
As for Syrian Kurdistan, despite allegations of an end to the fighting and violence in both Sari Kaniye and Gire Spi through recent agreements that have taken place with Turkey, however, the state of tension and congestion remains strong, and the ground for violent practices is still prepared, in addition to the suffering of the people as a result of the violations of the dark forces continued from Looting, theft and robberies, all this, besides displacement similar to Afrin and its dependencies, is also ongoing, and so are efforts to change the demographic nature in place, as the recent displacement of thousands of people displaced to the areas of Afrin as a result of military campaigns on the Idlib governorate, this means that it is necessary to strive and programmed to work with friendly international powers, human rights organizations and civil society institutions to press towards stopping violations and stopping the efforts of demographic change and arranging for the return of the displaced to their homes and properties, and then work to manage these areas by their real people, and it is worth mentioning that the Kurdish National Council in Syria, and at its last meeting, paid special attention to this aspect through the situations of Afrin, Gire Spi, and Sari Kaniye.
With regard to the position on the calls and endeavors to bring the views of the parties of the Kurdish political movement toward unity and political discourse, the position of our party (the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria) is part of the position of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, Which is to be the position of the Democratic Union Party is clear in this direction, and in harmony with what the Council wants to provide factors of trust and the appropriate atmosphere, mainly the release of detainees, and the recognition of ensuring a true partnership in rights and duties in all political, administrative and even military fields through a joint administration , stressing the partnership in the political decision in particular, and therefore it is possible to build what can be achieved in the service of our people and their national issue.
