Muhammad Ismail: "The council’s meeting rejecting any demographic change in the region and the need for the region to become under international supervision."

ARK News: The general meeting of the Kurdish National Council began on Friday 27. 12. 2019 in Qamishlo city, in the presence of Council President Saud Al-Mulla, the Presidency, and representatives of the Council’s parties and organizations, in addition to representatives of unions and independents,” and regarding what was presented at the meeting, the administrative official of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria and a member of the Presidency of the Kurdish National Council Muhammad Ismail said: The political developments in the region were discussed, especially those related to the issue of our Kurdish people in Syria and the circumstances of the stage, including the practice of armed factions and groups and their violations against defenseless civilians in each of Afrin, Sari Kaniye and Gire Spi, and in this regard the meeting expressed its rejection of any demographic change in the region and the necessity to become the region under international supervision to reduce the fears of the people of the region with all its components.

Ismail stated to the official site of Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, that the meeting of the Kurdish National Council confirmed the correctness of the positions of the Council and its political vision regarding the general conditions in the region, and evaluated positively the political and diplomatic movement of the Kurdish National Council and the continuous communication with all international and regional parties affecting the Syrian file such as Russia, America, France and others, to highlight the issue of the Kurdish people in Syria and alleviate their suffering, especially in the field of the negotiating body or the constitutional committee and political and diplomatic work in general .

Ismail added, the meeting stressed the need to address the tension between the Kurdish National Council and the National Coalition of the Revolution and Opposition Forces recently by dialogue on the ground of the Kurdish privacy base within the Syrian national opposition.

Regarding the initiative for the unity of the Kurdish position, Ismail explained, the meeting stressed its seriousness in working towards that and all that is required by agreement leading to a real partnership, and all that is required for the interest of our people and its national cause while the Council is waiting for the implementation of confidence-building steps from the PYD and revealing the fate of detainees before them, and the necessity the presence of an international guarantor.

Ismail stressed that the meeting discussed several points that are important to the organizational status of the Kurdish National Council and all that would aim to advance the level and goals and activate the role of the Kurdish National Council politically, publicly and organizationally, such as the work of the various offices and the comprehension of parties, where a committee was formed to study the situation of the parties that submitted their applications to the Council or the parties in which divisions occurred, in addition to starting the steps to prepare for the fourth conference of the Kurdish National Council.
