ARK News: A Syrian Kurdish leader affirmed, on Wednesday, that the United States of America remains in the Syrian oil region as an important economic joint, with the aim of pressuring Russia and the regime to accept political solutions through the United Nations and international resolutions, and not to allow Iran to penetrate the region.

Fouad Aliko, a leader in the Kurdish National Council in Syria, said: So far, the American policy in the east of the Euphrates has not materialized, and it is not clear what they will do there, but what is certain is that they remain in the Syrian oil region as an important economic joint with the aim of pressuring Russia and the regime to accept political solutions through the United Nations and international resolutions, and not to allow Iran to penetrate the region, as well not to leave the Syrian file in the hands of Russia alone.

Aliko added, "how will the region be managed? This is what its features have not yet been clarified."

And regarding the seriousness of Washington in bringing the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) closer to the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Aliko said: I do not think that they are enough serious, especially since they have given up 80% of the geography of the Kurdish region to Turkey, Russia and the regime, and if they were serious about their interest in the Kurdish file, they would not have withdrawn from this geography.

The Kurdish leader said: For that reason we have asked them to be sponsors of the understanding between us and the PYD but they refused that and expressed their desire to achieve rapprochement only, without taking care of them, no more.

Aliko explained that this is what weakens their stance and seriousness towards any project aimed at unifying the Kurdish row, knowing that we expected from them a more serious and clear stance on the Kurdish file, but this is what we have not touched yet.

Regarding the return of the Roj Peshmerga of Syrian Kurdistan, Aliko said: The Americans had previously refused their return in 2017 on the pretext that this would create a state of military conflict between us and the PYD forces, we did not discuss the file with them after that, indicating that the return of Roj Peshmerga is linked to the understanding between ENKS and PYD in the future.
