Statement by the PYD administration on “Unifying Kurdish Political Discourse”

ARK News: The Interior Body of the PYD Department, on Tuesday, 17.12.2019, issued a statement about the initiative to unify the Kurdish political discourse, stating that there is no legal obstacle to the Kurdish National Council in Syria ENKS, in order to open its offices without the need for prior security approval, and to drop the cases filed in front of the characters of the Kurdish National Council in Syria residing abroad without exception.

Following is the text of the statement:

Based on the initiative launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces to unify the Kurdish political discourse in Syria and build an actual partnership between the Self-Administration and the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), and delivering in the importance of this initiative in serving the public interest, we declare that there is no legal obstacle to the Kurdish National Council in Syria in order to open its organizational and party offices and conduct its political, media and social activities without the need for any prior security approvals, and in order to remove all obstacles to the process of rebuilding trust between all political and administrative activities.

We also announce the drop of cases brought before the judiciary against the personalities and leaders of the Kurdish National Council residing outside the country without any exception, and we affirm that there is no obstacle in front of them to move to Rojava ( Syrian Kurdistan) and entire North and East of Syria and to carry out their activities in full freedom and there will be no legal prosecution for any reason prior to the date of publication of this statement.

Regarding the settlement of the file of prisoners and absentees, we received a list of ten names submitted by the Presidency of the Kurdish National Council in Syria to the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces on December 15, we have formed a specialized committee to fact-finding and the investigate in the file and we will share all the results of the committee's work with the National Council and the leadership of SDF in as soon as possible.
