Learn about prisons and detention centers of the Turkish forces and armed factions
ARK News: A Human Rights Organization working to document violations in the Kurdish region of Afrin reported on its main page of Facebook yesterday, 7.12.2019, that militias of armed groups affiliated to Turkey continue by cracking down on Kurdish citizens in the Kurdish region of Afrin and the implementation of the political and military agendas in terms of the ethnic cleansing of Kurds and forcing residents to leave in order to make a demographic change.
The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said that since the military invaded the Afrin region, the Turkish government has relied on the armed militias of the Provisional Syrian Government and the National Coalition, especially two groups of them (thieves – extremists) in order to discredit the image of the Syrian revolution and opposition on the one hand and stir up sectarian and religious tensions on the other hand, in addition to their campaigns of arbitrary raid on charges of dealing with the previous self-administration and the random kidnapping by these militias in order to collect the ransom under the supervision of the Turkish security authorities and the deployment of radical Islamic elements in some towns and regions according to the requirements of the implementation of settlement and military agendas and the formation of hotbeds of terrorism and national conflict and Corruption.
The Human Rights Organization in Afrin added saying: The Turkish government and various factions used a number of institutional structures, especially (prisons - military headquarters) in the Afrin region, as well as obtaining military and security records and individual weapons archives through their clients in the previous self-management, which prepared by the de-facto authority represented by the PYD administration, which kept it as it was while they fled, letting Kurdish people struggling with death and all forms of injustice and the difficulty of daily life under the Turkish authority.
Here are details about some prisons and military headquarters:
First- Marate prison 1
It is run by the military police - the Ministry of Defense - within the ministries of the Syrian Interim Government, under the supervision of elements of the Turkish intelligence that the military police follow the same methods used in the prisons of the Syrian regime from indiscriminate accusations, beatings, brutal torture and the spread of the phenomenon of corruption and bribery, except for the spread of diseases among prisoners as a result of lack of health and medical attention and feeding without being held accountable by prison supervisors, and most of the prisoners are Kurdish citizens who were kidnapped on charges of compulsory service in the previous administration of the de-facto authority represented by organizing of the PYD or because of their opinions and personal relationships and their cell phones containing images indicating the Kurdish symbols and are subject to mock trials due to the rampant corruption in the judiciary.
Second: Marate prison 2
It is run by the Civil Police - the Ministry of Interior of the Syrian Provisional Government under the supervision of the Turkish forces, and is a new building that was built by PYD and contains several dormitories (rooms) and two breathing halls dedicated to prisoners every day for half an hour and is equipped with accurate surveillance cameras for all halls implicitly officials rooms and there is an interest in health and medical aspects and the provision of two meals of food every day, but financial corruption and bribery play an important role in the methods of dealing with the length of time the detainee stays in prison, as it has become known that prisoners who pay money to mediators and brokers, lawyers close to judges, shorten the length of their stay in prison, and who cannot pay remains the longest until the end of his rule.
Third - Rajo Prison
It is run by civil and military police officers under the supervision of the Turkish intelligence and its prisoners are limited number of Kurds accused of dealing with the previous self-administration, but the majority of prisoners are from the Arab component belonging to the armed factions of the Provisional Syrian Government and the National Coalition convicted on charges of financial and moral corruption and bribery and dealing with the Syrian regime and arms and drug smugglers and stealthily, as well as containing it the rebels and opponents of The Turkish tendencies of the Islamic extremists, and their stay in prison is determined by their acceptance and compliance with the conditions imposed on them by the Turkish government.
The Human Rights Organization stated that there are detention centers of the armed factions that belong to the leader of the faction under the supervision and coordination of Turkish intelligence and are not subjected to legislative laws and the administrative judiciary.
