Kurdish National Council condemns the armed factions perpetration of the massacre of Tal Rifaat

Dec 07 2019

ARK News: The Kurdish National Council in Syria issued a statement condemning the massacre committed against the Kurdish Afrin displaced people in the town of Tal Rifaat. ARK Media received a copy of the statement stating:

Acts contrary to the most basic human rights are continuing against the Kurdish people of Afrin, where killing, kidnapping, robbery and bulldozing olive trees are being forced to force the remaining residents to leave their homes with the aim of demographic change in the region by settling families that have come from other areas in the villages and towns of Afrin, which are carried out by armed groups there in full view of the Turkish army.

According to reports from the violations monitoring centers in Afrin, on 12/12/2019, these groups committed a heinous massacre against the evacuees of Afrin and their children, as mortars were bombed in the town of Tal Rifaat from the northern countryside in Aleppo, which is home to tens of thousands of these displaced people, which resulted in the fall of ten Martyrs and more than 10 wounded, most of them were children.

The Kurdish National Council, while condemning this crime and its perpetrators, appeals to the international community and the relevant countries to shoulder their humanitarian responsibilities, to stop these crimes against the civilian families, to enable people to return to their homes safely and provide the necessities for a decent living for them, and to hand over the administration of the region to its people.
