5 years on the martyrdom of Abdul Karim Mahmoud Abu Yilmaz in the Syrian regime's prisons

ARK News: Monday marks 2. 12. 2019, the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of a member of the Area Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria (PDK-S) and a member of the local council of the Kurdish National Council Abdul Karim Mahmoud Abu Yilmaz in the Zorava neighborhood of Damascus.

Abdul Karim Mahmoud, known as “Abu Yilmaz”, who lost his life in the Syrian regime's prisons after a period of nearly two years' imprisonment for being severely tortured on charges of belonging to a banned political party and arming youth in the Zorava neighborhood, these charges against all activists and politicians who are opposed to the Syrian regime.

All Kurds in Damascus attest to him for his services and struggle, he was one of the first participants in the sit-ins, protests, and demonstrations in Damascus, demanding the lifting of emergency provisions, and due to his activity, he was subjected to ongoing arrests and interrogations by the security branches in Damascus.

The martyr Abdul Karim Mahmoud was arrested on 21/7/2013 in Zorava neighborhood by a security patrol of the Syrian regime and remained for several months in detention at the security branches, he was then transferred to Adra Central Prison in Damascus, where the martyr Abu Yilmaz was subjected by the Syrian intelligence to the most egregious torture without mercy.
