ARK News: German Chancellor Angela Merkel pledged on Wednesday to provide new assistance to Turkey to “take care" for Syrian refugees there.

Merkel said after a meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrei Blinkovic that she was "ready, to provide new assistance to Turkey, for the tasks in which it undertakes to shelter 3.5 million people, if necessary."

Since 2017, Turkey has received € 5.6 billion, out of € 6 billion, under an agreement with the EU to provide aid in return for preventing migrants and refugees from crossing into the Greek islands.
