Masrour Barzani: We are proud of our nation, which has not hesitated to provide shelter to those who need it
ARK News: Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said on Saturday, 16 November 2019, expressed his proud to the Kurdish people who have always come to the aid of those in need, stressing that the international community must do more to help the displaced and refugees in the region.
"I am proud that this nation has not hesitated to provide shelter to those who need it most," Barzani said on Twitter.
He added the “thankfulness to the brilliant aid workers who help us get the resources and support to those who need them, but the international community must do more."
Barzani enclosed his tweet with a video showing part of the assistance provided by the Kurdistan Region to refugees and displaced people in the region.
According to official statistics, the Kurdistan region is home to more than 1.1 million displaced Iraqis, along with tens of thousands of refugees from neighboring countries, mostly from Syrian Kurdistan.
